NAPPANEE, INDIANA: David Tompos, President of ICC NTA, LLC, has recently been reappointed to serve as the Vice-Chairperson of the Manufactured Housing Consensus Committee (MHCC). The Vice-Chair serves at the Secretary’s pleasure, who places a high level of confidence in Mr. Tompos. The assistant secretary for housing states, “I am confident that your previous experience on the MHCC and your ability to work with all parties provides you with the knowledge and skills to assist the MHCC’s mission.”
Mr. Tompos has served on the MHCC since 2010, and he has championed several revisions that have been sent to HUD for their consideration. These include but are not limited to fire safety preemption, ventilation improvements, and several reference standard updates.
The Manufactured Housing Consensus Committee (MHCC) is a Federal Advisory Committee body that provides recommendations to the Secretary after close study of HUD’s manufactured home construction and safety standards and related procedural and enforcement regulations. The MHCC plays a vital role in the development and maintenance of construction and safety standards and regulations applicable to the manufactured housing industry.
The reappointment as Vice-Chairperson of the MHCC is effective as of January 1, 2021. The MHCC member reappointment is for a term of three calendar years ending December 31, 2023.
