NTA, Inc Offers CARB & EPA TSCA Title VI Certification Program in South Asia, the Middle East, South East Asia and North Africa
July 8, 2019 – Nappanee, Indiana – Testing, inspection, and certification firm NTA, Inc, is proud to announce its partnership with India-based GICIA India Private Limited (GIPL). GIPL is a leading verification and inspection body in India and is the only agency in India to provide CARB & EPA certification through their partnership with NTA, Inc.
The CARB & EPA TSCA Title VI Certification program certifies composite wood in accordance with California Air Resources Board (CARB) Airborne Toxic Control Measure to Reduce Formaldehyde Emissions from Composite Wood Products (ATCM) sections 93120-93120.12 and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) Title VI, 40 CFR Part 770.
Products such as Hardwood plywood (HWPW) (veneer and composite core), Particleboard (PB), and Medium density fiberboard (MDF) and thin medium density fiberboard (tMDF) are used to make items such as furniture, work stations, shelving, countertops, flooring, and toys are covered by the Regulation.
GIPL is working under the banner of NTA, Inc. for issuing CARB & EPA Certification at the regional jurisdiction of South Asia, the Middle East, South East Asia, and North Africa. GIPL in association with NTA Inc. inspects, audits, and certifies composite wood products against the CARB & EPA code of conduct.
NTA, Inc. is a CARB approved Third-party certification body for evaluating the code compliance of composite wood products and a leader in building product code evaluation and certification.
Manufacturers in India wishing to be certified will first go through the application process with GIPL. GIPL will offer guidance for all documentation, on-site inspection, testing & reporting. Upon successful completion of all on-site inspection and independent lab testing, NTA. Inc. will review and grant a certificate which must be reviewed annually.
