NTA, Inc.’s President Appointed to HUD Committee

NAPPANEE, INDIANA: Nappanee, Indiana is home to some of the world’s most knowledgeable experts on the manufactured housing industry, and the Department of Housing and Urban Development is looking to those experts to provide advice and guidance on manufactured housing construction and safety standards. The Nappanee company NTA Inc., a leader in third party plan review, product certification, and building code consulting services, is proud to announce that its president, David Tompos, has been appointed to HUD’s Manufactured Housing Consensus Committee (MHCC).
The MHCC is a federal advisory committee that was organized to provide recommendations to the Secretary on Federal manufactured housing construction and safety standards, and all relevant regulations. The 22-member committee is responsible for recommending revisions to construction, safety, and installation standards for manufactured housing. The committee is made up of individuals across three categories: Producers and retailers of manufactured housing, users of manufactured housing, and general interest/public officials. Tompos will serve as a General Interest and Public Official member of the committee.
In his capacity as committee member, Tompos will lend his special expertise in the area of manufactured housing standards and quality control, representing the viewpoints of both citizens and public officials. As president of NTA Inc., Tompos is able to bring a broad range of knowledge to the table in the areas of quality control, product testing, and “Green Building” practices. NTA is only one of five private companies that is HUD certified to review and audit manufactured housing plants, and the company is also accredited to certify products in commercial, residential, modular construction.
