Mr. Luna is currently involved in leadership of the Building Products Division for ICC NTA, LLC. He maintains full P&L responsibilities for the division and strategic development in Testing, Inspection, and Certification for materials used in the built environment. His 23 years of industry experience provides for expertise in change management, resource and asset allocation, and team building that results in excellent customer experience and satisfaction. He has been involved in a leadership capacity since 1999 and has had several upper management roles with a large international TIC based business which included regional management of business units in the United States, Middle East, and North Africa. In the past, he was involved in large- and small-scale fire tests, focusing on the fire resistance and material flammability properties of products used in the building construction and marine industry as well as air/water/structural testing for building materials in the lab and on construction sites.
He is a member of the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) and the National Fire Protection Association Technical Committee on Fire Tests. His participation currently involves sitting on several committee and subcommittee task groups dedicated to updating and initiating fire test standards used in building construction and materials. His active participation in ASTM and NFPA has led to establishing state of the art equipment, instrumentation, and test standards used for fire testing.
Mr. Luna has been involved in fire resistance testing for the U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, and other marine supplier organizations for 10 years. Fire tests for these organizations mostly fall under the International Maritime Organization (IMO) test standards. Materials usually tested for these organizations are bulkheads, decks, through penetrations, and door assemblies used for the marine industry. His previous experience with the U.S. Navy maintained the qualification tests performed on mechanically attached fittings, and he has been involved in writing test procedures for testing of bulkhead/door assemblies for the U.S. Navy.
