Reading an NTA Evaluation Report (NER) and Listing Report (NLR)
NTA Evaluation Reports (NER) are used by code officials to verify that new and innovative building products comply with code requirements. The NER provides information about what code requirements or acceptance criteria were used to evaluate the product, how the product should be installed to meet the requirements, how to identify the product, and much more.

Evaluation Report Number: A unique number given to every report
CSI Number: NTA Evaluation Reports are categorized according to Construction Specification Institutes Master Format System
Report Holder: Name and address of the company that holds an NTA Evaluation Report, and the Manufacturing Location(s) where the product is manufactured
Subject: The product covered by the report
Scope: Codes used for certification and evaluation
Uses: Identifies how the product is to be used according to the code provisions
Description: General product description of basic features such as dimensions
Design: General design requirements or limitations
Installation: General or specific requirements to aid in verifying proper installation
Conditions of Use: Statement of product conformity to code or a suitable replacement, and a list of the conditions under which the product was certified
Evidence Submitted: General data used in certifying the product (test report, engineering, acceptance criteria, etc.)
Findings: Findings specific to each report on compliance
Identification: Specific requirements on product identification that describe how the product is labeled or marked to show compliance with the NTA Evaluation Report.
NTA Listing Reports (NLR) are used by code officials to verify that products comply with applicable standards. The NLR provides information about how the product complies with the standard as listed and how the product should be identified.

Listing Report Number: A unique number given to every report
Report Holder: Name and address of the company that holds an NTA Listing Report
Product: The product covered by the report
Standards: Listed product(s) is in compliance with the applicable sections of the standards listed here
Manufacturing Quality Control: The manufacturer’s quality system has been evaluated in accordance with the standards listed here
Description: General product description of basic features such as dimensions
Design: General design requirements or limitations
Installation: General or specific requirements to aid in verifying proper installation
Evidence Submitted: General data used in certifying the product (test report, engineering, acceptance criteria, etc.)
Findings: Findings specific to each report on compliance
Markings: Specific requirements on product identification that describe how the product is labeled or marked to show compliance with the NTA Listing Report.
