This year marks the 50^th anniversary of NTA as a company and the work anniversary founder, David Tompos! David started the company in a home basement on December 12, 1975, alongside his business partner, Dennis Norkus. The pair met while working at Wickes Lumber in Argos and together decided to enter the field of inspection and design review. With careful consideration, David felt that Nappanee, Indiana was the perfect place to start this venture.

The business was a success, and in 1995 they were able to expand with a new facility, employment opportunities and expanded services. David and Dennis worked hard to build a company whose name became synonymous with quality and integrity.

NTA has long been considered a family business, so when Dennis retired in 2002, David welcomed his sons, David A. Tompos, Eric Tompos, and Gregg Tompos into the fold and dramatically expanded the company’s services and capabilities.

When NTA was acquired by the International Code Council in 2019, it became known as ICC NTA. The incredible success of this company is due in large part to the hard work of founder, David Tompos.
