Test Methods

ASTM E72: Standard Test Methods of Conducting Strength Tests of Panels for Building Construction

Part 1: Axial Demonstration

Watch this test, which simulates the weight of a second story on the walls of a first story.

ASTM E72: Standard Test Methods of Conducting Strength Tests of Panels for Building Construction

Part 2: Transverse Demonstration

Watch this test, which simulates the force of the wind blowing directly into the face of a wall.

ASTM E72: Standard Test Methods of Conducting Strength Tests of Panels for Building Construction

Part 3: Racking Demonstration

Watch this test, which simulates the force of the wind blowing directly into the face of a wall, pushing it against a wall T-ed with it.

ASTM D6007 Formaldehyde Demonstration

Watch the testing method for determining formaldehyde concentration in the air from wood products using a small-scale chamber. This method is a way to quantify how much newly manufactured panel products contribute to indoor air quality.

ASTM E1333 Formaldehyde Large-chamber Demonstration

Watch the testing method for determining formaldehyde concentration in air and emission rates from wood products using a large-scale chamber. This method is a way to quantify how much newly manufactured panel products contribute to indoor air quality.

ASTM E96 Perm Rating Demonstration

Watch the test method for determining the perm rating or the permeance of a material, based on the amount of water vapor that will diffuse through the material in the presence of a vapor-pressure difference.

ASTM E162 Fire Demonstration

Watch the test method for determining the surface flammability of materials using a radiant heat energy source.

ASTM E1886 Missile Impact Demonstration

Watch this demonstration of the test for performance of exterior windows, curtain walls, doors, and impact-protective systems when impacted by a missile and exposed to cyclic pressure differentials.

ASTM D5456 Tension Parallel to Grain Demonstration

Watch this demonstration of a test to determine tension strength parallel to the grain.

ASTM D5456 Edgewise Bending Demonstration

Watch this demonstration of a test for edgewise bending.

IAPMO Z124 / CSA B45.5 Scrub/Wear Demonstration

Watch this test that ensures that a brush/cleaner does not wear through the surface of the test material, such as a countertop or plumbing fixtures.
