Find the memo below regarding the adoption of the 2020 National Electrical Code effective 8/1/2020 for units under the Factory-Built Structures program. In follow up to the post on 08-12-2020, the Colorado State Electrical Board updated Rule 1.2 to include the adoption of the 2020 National Electrical Code without amendment, effective on August 1, 2020. This code update does apply to the Factory-Built Structures program, however rule (8 CCR 1302-14 2.5) applies allows for a transition period of 180 days after the effective date.
Between August 1, 2020 and February 1, 2021, Plans may be submitted to the prior 2017 NEC or the newly adopted 2020 NEC. Starting February 2, 2021, All Plan Submittals must include the 2020 NEC. All units constructed on or after this date must comply with the 2020 NEC (based on manufacturer date)
