The Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development. Effective September 4, 2018 the state will adopt a new edition of the Virginia Uniform Building Code (USBC). The USBC will incorporate by reference the 2015 International Building Codes and the whole family of the 2015 International Codes with Virginia Amendments. A new edition of the Virginia Industrialized Building Safety Regulations (IBSR) will also be adopted. The IBSR will provide a grace period of 1- year.
One important change to note is the cost of the industrialized building certification seals (label). The VCC (IBC) seal is currently $75 and will remain the same. The VCC (IRC) seal is currently $50 and will increase to $75 on September 4, 2018.
The USBC and IBSR were published on April 30, 2018. Once the regulations become effective, the 2015 editions will be posted on the Department of Housing and Community Development website.
