As received from NEMA, the final regulations for the 2015 Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code (USBC), 2015 Virginia Statewide Fire Prevention Code (SFPC), 2015 Virginia Amusement Device Regulations (VADR), and the 2015 Virginia Industrialized Building Safety Regulations (IBSR) have been published in the Virginia Register. Please note, this will effect Industrialized (Modular) Residential and Commercial Buildings. Changes include (13VAC5-91-160) updates the referenced model codes and standards to the most recent editions available, (13VAC5-91-240) adds language to permit a manufacturer to apply an approval label on an industrialized building when authorized to do so by a compliance assurance agency.
Industrialized buildings entering the production assembly line after the mandatory effective date shall comply with all applicable requirements of the codes and standards listed below. Internal conversations with the state indicated the effective date listed in the notification below is tentative. The state will send a letter notifying manufacturers the mandatory effective date. Manufacturers will have a 1-year grace period to incorporate the new code.
