The Construction Code – Part 10a. Energy Code rules were filed with the Secretary of State on December 23, 2024, and will become effective on April 22, 2025. The rules adopt by reference the 2021 edition of the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC), with amendments, deletions, and additions deemed appropriate for use in Michigan.
The Construction Code – Part 4. Building Code rules were filed with the Secretary of State on December 10, 2024, and will become effective on April 9, 2025. The rules adopt by reference the 2021 edition of the International Building Code, with amendments, deletions, and additions deemed appropriate for use in Michigan.
North Carolina General Assembly Session Law 2024-57 (S382) became law on 12/11/24. Section 1F.3 of the new law delays the effective date of the 2024 North Carolina State Building Code to 7/1/25. As a result, the 2018 North Carolina State Building Code remains effective through 6/30/25.
The 2024 North Carolina State Building Code is effective on 7/1/25.
The Department of Community Affairs has adopted one mandatory State Minimum Standard Code and one new Georgia State Amendment which will become effective on January 1, 2025. The new code and amendment are as follows:

Several updates and changes have been made to the Missouri Code of State Regulations governing modular units Chapter 123 – 20 CSR 4240-123. Prior approved existing modular units will be valid until May 30, 2025. Effective November 30, 2024, new codes were adopted, and all new modular unit models must be constructed to the criteria set forth in the 2021 International Building Code, the 2021 International Plumbing Code, the 2021 International Mechanical Code, the 2021 International Fuel Gas Code, the 2021 International Residential Code, the 2021 International Energy Code and the 2020 National Electric Code NFPA 70 NEC.
North Carolina Building Code Council at their 9/10/24 meeting, the 2023 NFPA 70 (2023 NC Electrical Code, 2024 NC Residential Code and 2024 NC Administrative Code and Policies will be mandatorily effective 1/1/25.
The 2017 NFPA 70 (2017 NC Electrical Code) is effective for buildings and structures included within the scope of the 2018 NC Residential Code through 12/31/24.
The 2020 NFPA 70 (2020 NC Electrical Code) is effective for buildings and structures not included within the scope of the 2018 NC Residential Code through 12/31/24.
The 2018 NC Administrative Code and Policies is effective through 12/31/24.
