Colorado Thermal Expansion Control-Water Heaters

The Colorado Building Codes & Standards has identified the installation of thermal expansion controls are not consistently being installed in factory-built residential structures. Effective immediately thermal expansion controls will be required to be shown on plan submittals and installation will be field verified during the inspection.

Minnesota 2020 State Building Code adoption

On Tuesday, March 31, 2020, six new Minnesota construction codes are scheduled to take effect. Although this adoption is occurring during the COVID-19 pandemic, the construction industry has been fully engaged in the process of developing changes to the new codes over the past two years and are anticipating their implementation.

NEW YORK E-BULLETIN – Amended Notice of Adoption

On March 6, 2020, the State Fire Prevention and Building Code Council (the “Code Council”) adopted a rule that further amends and updates the original rule that appeared in the February 12, 2020 State Register to amend and update the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code (the “Uniform Code”). The detailed changes to the full text of the amended rule are provided in the notification below and the full text of the amended rule is here. The Virginia 2018 Code Development Cycle is moving forward

Please find the following notification as received from NEMA. The Virginia 2018 Code Development Cycle is moving forward in accordance with the approved schedule. Due to restrictions on public gatherings and to help slow the spread of COVID-19, the Division of Building and Fire Regulations will not be conducting in-person meetings until further notice. Scheduled workgroup and sub-workgroup meeting dates have not changed, but all of these meetings will be held remotely online. Please visit the notification for additional information.

New York State Modular Status
March 25, 2020

The NYSDOS Modular Unit is primarily working from home with limited office hours. They are checking their telephone messages and emails daily and responding as quickly as possible. They are continuing to do submission logins, reviews, and approvals. They are continuing to process insignia orders once a week. They ask that they only request insignia for projects that are actually being fabricated and stockpiling of insignia is not allowed. If they truly need the insignia we will get it to them as quickly as they can.(Read More..)
