Notice is hereby given that the Ohio Board of Building Standards will convene for a public hearing in accordance with Chapter 119. of the Revised Code, at 10:00 A.M., Friday, November 9, 2018 in Hearing Room #1, at 6606 Tussing Road, Reynoldsburg, Ohio, 43068. The purpose of the hearing is to solicit testimony on proposed actions taken on select rules of the Administrative Code, identified as Amendments Group XCVII (97) pursuant to Chapters 119., 3781., 3791., and 4104. of the Revised Code. Please find the announcement below as received from the California Department of Housing and Community Development regarding the public comment period for modifications intended for the 2016 California Building Standards. The code modifications are proposed as permanent amendments to the 2016 edition of the California Building Code, Part 2, and the California Residential Code, Part 2.5, as related to emergency housing. Public comments on the proposed building standards will be accepted during a 15-Day Comment Period. All written comments must be submitted to CBSC no later than 5 p.m. on October 23, 2018. One item covered in the newsletter is the adoption process for the 2018 I-Codes and the administrative requirements of the State Building Code. The Construction Codes Advisory Council (CCAC) met June 21, 2018, to review a report from Technical Advisory Groups about seven of the 2018 I-Codes and the administrative requirements of the State Building Code. The final regulations for the 2015 Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code (USBC), 2015 Virginia Amusement Device Regulations (VADR), and the 2015 Virginia Industrialized Building Safety Regulations (IBSR) have been approved by the Virginia Board of Housing and Community Development with an effective date of September 4, 2018. The envelope tightness test, commonly referred to as “blower door testing,” required by the “Residential Provisions” of the 2015 International Energy Conservation Code (2015 IECC), as modified by Part 3 of the2016 Supplement to the State Energy Conservation Construction Code (2016 ECS).
